Nestled in a rustic canyon with a winding road on the eastern edge of Bel Air, Beverly Glen is a close-knit community of 600 residents. Although it sits squarely in the middle of Los Angeles -- one of the nation’s busiest urban centers -- here you feel as though you’re away from it all. As a cool breeze stirs the air and sycamores whisper back, you may see a doe and fawn high on a woodsy hillside. On a starry night you can feel the stillness usually experienced in a dense forest. You may wave to a neighbor, someone you’ve known for years on a first-name basis. A resident’s association, a community center, annual social activities, charming homes and gardens, convenient markets and stores and friendly neighbors -- Beverly Glen may be the ideal community.

Beverly Glen Residents:

There will be a protest at the Hotel Bel-Air on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14th, likely starting at 4 pm, but possibly earlier.  Expect traffic on Sunset between Stone Canyon and Beverly Glen to be more difficult than usual during Friday rush hour.

Here’s the link to additional information from the Bel-Air Association.

Additionally, Beverly Glen will be completely closed between Ventura Blvd and Mulholland Blvd on Saturday, October 15th and Sunday, October 16th from 6 am to 6 pm for resurfacing.  Expect additional delays around Mulholland as people will have to be diverted to the east and west.

Thanks for your patience with these issues.  We will bring you additional information as soon as we access it.

Inaugural Speedwatch Results

Posted by Traffic | Posted in Speedwatch Program, Traffic | Posted on 10-05-2011

Coming full circle, Residents of Beverly Glen resurrected a program from 12 years ago where resident volunteers logged speeds of those violating our speed limits on Beverly Glen.  With a quick training session with LAPD, RoBG was provided a radar gun and the training to log speed violators who then receive warning letters from LAPD.  Repeat offenders may get a personal visit from LAPD at their home, as was done in the Palisades Highlands.

Whether its a commuter or resident, no one has the right to drive unsafely in our neighborhood.  If your concerned about the unsafe speeds on Beverly Glen, contact traffic@beverlyglen.org to volunteer for our Speedwatch team, all it takes a 1 hour a month to make a big difference to let drivers know they are being watched, Speedwatched!

Here are the results:

Speed Time

40 1:58

Hello Neighbors!

Our community has been redistricted and will soon be represented by Assemblywoman Betsy Butler, after the June, 2012 election.  In addition to our current Assemblyman, Mike Feuer, joining us at our Annual Meeting on October 9th, Assemblywoman Butler will come to meet her new constituents!

On a personal note, I have known Betsy for many years and she is wonderful.  I am thrilled that we will soon be represented in Sacramento by this smart and passionate woman.  You can learn more about her here:

Posted by Traffic | Posted in Community Messages, Hillside Federation, Neighborhood Council, Traffic, Zoning & Development | Posted on 09-12-2011

Hello Neighbors!

I have received a very large power point presentation from Metro that updates the community on the improvements to the 405.  It’s 62 pages total and I was not able to post the whole thing here.  If you are interested in the whole document (10 MB), please e-mail traffic@beverlyglen.org and I’ll send it to you.

The improvements to the Sunset Bridge, including information about the closure of Sunset Blvd. are included in the three segments attached below.

If you have any questions, you can contact Metro’s community relations person for this segment, Olga Arroyo – her e-mail is arroyoo@metro.net (not a typo, there are 2 o’s at the end of her e-mail address).

Here’s the Sunset Bridge portion of the presentation – I had to break it down into three segments to get it posted here.  Closure information (between Sept. 30 and October 15) is listed in the final document (“sunset c”).
