Nestled in a rustic canyon with a winding road on the eastern edge of Bel Air, Beverly Glen is a close-knit community of 600 residents. Although it sits squarely in the middle of Los Angeles -- one of the nation’s busiest urban centers -- here you feel as though you’re away from it all. As a cool breeze stirs the air and sycamores whisper back, you may see a doe and fawn high on a woodsy hillside. On a starry night you can feel the stillness usually experienced in a dense forest. You may wave to a neighbor, someone you’ve known for years on a first-name basis. A resident’s association, a community center, annual social activities, charming homes and gardens, convenient markets and stores and friendly neighbors -- Beverly Glen may be the ideal community.

Message about COVID-19

0

Posted by VP | Posted in Community Messages, Emergency Preparedness, ROBG Board | Posted on 03-17-2020

Dear Glen Residents:

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 we understand that life has been disrupted in immeasurable ways for everyone. As Residents of Beverly Glen is a community organization, we wanted to share some information and a request during this difficult and unprecedented time.

First, we want to ensure everyone is aware of credible sources for up-to-date information and news. Here is a sample of sources you can visit:

Center for Disease Control: https://www.cdc.gov/

City of Los Angeles:  https://www.lacity.org/

CA Department of Public Health: https://www.cdph.ca.gov/

Second, life for many residents may be impacted differently and more significantly than for others. Please consider checking in with neighbors – do they have everything they need? How can you help? In very difficult times like this it’s important to stay safe, but to also care for those who may need a little extra help. Please consider doing what you can to help others.

Finally, you’ve may have already read many times over what you can do remain healthy and prevent the possible spread of the virus, but we think it bears repeating:

From the California Department of Public Health:

“Every person has a role to play. So much of protecting yourself and your family comes down to common sense:

  • Washing hands with soap and water.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. If surfaces are dirty, clean them using detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.
  • Avoiding touching eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow.
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick.
  • Staying away from work, school or other people if you become sick with respiratory symptoms like fever and cough.
  • Following guidance from public health officials.”
  • Best practice is to also practice social distancing, which includes keeping a 6 foot distance from any other person when out in a public setting.

Thank you for doing your part, and we hope everyone remains safe and healthy.
