Impostors Are Scamming LADWP Customers By Phone

Persistent phone scammers are deceiving LADWP customers into paying non-existent water and power bills with threats of immediate service shut off. Don’t fall victim to phone scammers posing as LADWP “collection” personnel.

• LADWP employees will NEVER ask for personal payment information over the telephone. They will never ask you to purchase pre-paid cash cards from a convenience store to pay your utility bill.
• Payment by telephone can ONLY happen through the Department’s voice automated payment system, not with live employees. LADWP personnel do not accept payment information verbally over the telephone.
• If you get a call asking for a cash card or credit card number or other personal financial information, hang up and call LAPD.

Safety and service excellence are of utmost importance to LADWP. Victimization of our customers will not be tolerated. Impostors can expect to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Our regularly scheduled ROBG meeting tonight, Monday, April 14th, is postponed to next Monday, April 21st at 7:30 p.m. The agenda will be posted prior to the meeting. We hope to see you then.

ROBG has recently been notified that the northern section of Beverly Glen Boulevard will be repaved by the Bureau of Street Services Resurfacing Division in mid-May 2014.   To avoid inconvenience to residents and increased traffic congestion in the area, the repaving project is expected to take place over the course of two weekends in May.  The anticipated dates are May 17, 18 and May 24, 25.  The project limits are from Mulholland Drive to Beverly Glen Place and is estimated to cover a distance of 1.63 miles.  The project will start at the top of Beverly Glen Boulevard at Mulholland and will continue south.  This project will require a full street closure but the Bureau will accommodate residents with egress and ingress. The Bureau is expected to post message board signs along Beverly Glen Boulevard to notify the public of the project before it begins.
