Dear Residents,
Mark Your Calendars and Save the Date! It’s that time of year again to celebrate the holidays on Sunday December 7th from 5pm-7pm at the Les and Dorothy River Community Center at 10409 Scenario Lane.
There will be plenty of time to mingle with friends and neighbors and sample delicious holiday fare. Food donations are
welcome for items that are festive for the holidays and the chilly time of year so break out the cookbooks and the family traditions.
Beverly Glen Market has agreed to provide the non-alcoholic beverages and Beverly Glen Realty will continue its tradition of the wine tasting table.
There will be holiday movies for the kids and other crafty activities. Jadon Friedberg will entertain us at his DJ Booth. Shayne
Warnken and Noah Harris our local favorite musicians have been asked to make an appearance at the party and maybe we will be lucky enough for them to perform!
I look forward to continuing the traditions established by the Residents of Beverly Glen. If there is anything that anyone would like to suggest your recommendations are welcome; after all it’s your party!
Please feel free to call me at 310-967-9025 or email social@beverlyglen.org
Happy Holidays,
Sharalee Flesche, Social Chair

The Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services Resurfacing Division has scheduled Phase II of resurfacing for Beverly Glen on Saturday November 15, 2014 and Sunday November 16, 2014. The 1.6 mile segment of resurfacing will be from Beverly Glen Place to Greendale Drive. The department will be profiling on Saturday the 15th and will repave the following day on Sunday the 16th, with an estimated 4100 tons of asphalt. The resurfacing crew will begin at 6:00am and will be done before 5:00pm on both days.
The department will only allow local traffic but no through traffic between Greendale Drive and Beverly Glen Place, as they will have many trucks and heavy equipment working within the narrow roadway. This is especially true on Sunday when they pave. Message boards will be placed this week at Mulholland Drive and Sunset Blvd to inform residents and motorists of the road construction and intended street closure, also advising all to use an alternate route. Emergency Response Vehicles will be given full access to their destination.
The Official Notice for the Project can be viewed here: Notice of Street Work

Sunday October 5th from 2pm until 4pm is the Annual Residents of Beverly Glen Meeting at the Les and Dorothy River Community Center located at 10409 Scenario Lane, Los Angeles, CA 90077.
Come meet some of our local Police and Fire Representatives. Hear from your Councilman Paul Koretz and Field Deputies from District 5. Find out what is new in your community and what you can do to help.
Food will be served courtesy of the Residents of Beverly Glen Board donations. Wine will be served courtesy of Beverly Glen Realty and other cold beverages will be served courtesy of the Glen Market at Crater Lane. Come spend the afternoon with your community and enjoy!
The weather will be warm so we have arranged to have shade canopies set up to beat the heat. Jadon Friedberg has generously agreed to provide sound equipment so our speakers will not have to shout over the traffic.
The current board members of the Residents of Beverly Glen are hopeful that many of our residents will be inspired to contribute some time and energy to our community. Take a moment and consider volunteering for a committee or the Board. It is fun – and meaningful.
If you haven’t renewed your Residents of Beverly Glen Membership the Annual Meeting is a perfect time to do so.

According to the new law, a driver must allow three feet of distance when overtaking or passing a bicyclist. If three feet is not available, a driver must then slow to a safe speed and pass when no danger is present.
“As important as it is for vehicles to be mindful of our bicyclists, those who ride must exercise safe practices and ride smart,” added Commissioner Farrow. “With both drivers and bicyclists doing their part, we can help reduce the number of tragedies involving bicyclists.”
The “Three-Feet-for-Safety-Act” will become effective on September 16, 2014.
