Apparently LA DWP has decided do close Beverly Glen again, without notice to us or our Councilman’s office. They expect to be done soon but who knows, so plan accordingly and stay tuned.
This time though, we can’t stay quiet, we ask all residents to call the following numbers and let DWP know how much of an inconvenience this is to our community. We know we may need Beverly Glen shut down to repair the road but let us know so we can let you all know so you can plan accordingly and for decency’s sake, not on a Friday!
All residents, call:
213.367.1063 – We think this is the Head of Water Service Division’s Office, Joe Castaranto (sp?), also call
1-800-DIAL-DWP, Customer Service
We were patient and understanding last time and impressed upon them through our strongest advocate, our Councilman’s office, to coordinate with us so we can get the word out. This time, they need to hear from us.
We’ll keep you posted as we hear more as well.

Thanks to all residents for updates, seems Beverly Glen is open all the way through, I would still give yourselves time to get home, it is Friday after all.
We’ll monitor what work will need to be done and keep you all posted.

As some know, looks like Beverly Glen is closed from Sunset to Nicada, information is scarce and fluid but make necessary plans to use Benedict Canyon if necessary, we will continue updating and have contacted the Councilman’s office who is contacting DWP, who is coordinating the work with a private contractor.
We are very upset about lack of coordinate with DWP and will communicate that effectively on behalf of all residents. For now, coordinate as best as you can and make plans for afternoon drives.
Stay tuned, updated will be posted as we know.
There’s been a water main break at No. Beverly Glen & Corfu Lane.
DWP is already working on this and Councilman Koretz’s office knows about it. Do not drive south on the Glen if you can avoid it (if you are north of Corfu) and the same goes for North, if you live south of Corfu). We will do our best to keep you updated on this problem.

Then you should attend an upcoming community meeting on November 17, 2011:
- Thursday, November 17, 2011
- 6:00pm – 8:00pm
- Westwood Recreational Center – 1350 South Sepulveda Blvd, Room C
For more information, download this flyer: November 17, 2011 Metro Meeting.
Beverly Glen Residents:
There will be a protest at the Hotel Bel-Air on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14th, likely starting at 4 pm, but possibly earlier. Expect traffic on Sunset between Stone Canyon and Beverly Glen to be more difficult than usual during Friday rush hour.
Here’s the link to additional information from the Bel-Air Association.
Additionally, Beverly Glen will be completely closed between Ventura Blvd and Mulholland Blvd on Saturday, October 15th and Sunday, October 16th from 6 am to 6 pm for resurfacing. Expect additional delays around Mulholland as people will have to be diverted to the east and west.
Thanks for your patience with these issues. We will bring you additional information as soon as we access it.
Posted by Traffic | Posted in Speedwatch Program, Traffic | Posted on 05-10-2011
Coming full circle, Residents of Beverly Glen resurrected a program from 12 years ago where resident volunteers logged speeds of those violating our speed limits on Beverly Glen. With a quick training session with LAPD, RoBG was provided a radar gun and the training to log speed violators who then receive warning letters from LAPD. Repeat offenders may get a personal visit from LAPD at their home, as was done in the Palisades Highlands.
Whether its a commuter or resident, no one has the right to drive unsafely in our neighborhood. If your concerned about the unsafe speeds on Beverly Glen, contact traffic@beverlyglen.org to volunteer for our Speedwatch team, all it takes a 1 hour a month to make a big difference to let drivers know they are being watched, Speedwatched!

Hello Neighbors!
Our community has been redistricted and will soon be represented by Assemblywoman Betsy Butler, after the June, 2012 election. In addition to our current Assemblyman, Mike Feuer, joining us at our Annual Meeting on October 9th, Assemblywoman Butler will come to meet her new constituents!
On a personal note, I have known Betsy for many years and she is wonderful. I am thrilled that we will soon be represented in Sacramento by this smart and passionate woman. You can learn more about her here:
http://asmdc.org/members/a53/
We will also have various special guests from our local police, fire and California Highway Patrol, if you have any law enforcement-related questions.
See you at the Annual Meeting!!
Evelyn Alexander
Traffic Committee Chair

Hello Neighbors!
I have received a very large power point presentation from Metro that updates the community on the improvements to the 405. It’s 62 pages total and I was not able to post the whole thing here. If you are interested in the whole document (10 MB), please e-mail traffic@beverlyglen.org and I’ll send it to you.
The improvements to the Sunset Bridge, including information about the closure of Sunset Blvd. are included in the three segments attached below.
If you have any questions, you can contact Metro’s community relations person for this segment, Olga Arroyo – her e-mail is arroyoo@metro.net (not a typo, there are 2 o’s at the end of her e-mail address).
Here’s the Sunset Bridge portion of the presentation – I had to break it down into three segments to get it posted here. Closure information (between Sept. 30 and October 15) is listed in the final document (“sunset c”).
